The performance of database operations has always been an important factor in database research being done. This has never been more important, as the quantity of data is growing at an alarming rate. This coupled with the recent growth of using graphics processors as general compute processors has led to many advancements in the field of databases. This work provides a brief look into the history of the implementation of database operations on the GPU.
